I want to be a coach because I love basketball and sports and what it has been for me in my life.
My Father played and coached wheelchair basketball as well as my 3 other uncles played and coached HS basketball. Coaching and sports have been a big part of my life. When my father died when i was 8, i never got to really be coached by him and grow under his wing. After playing intramurals myself in 5th and 6th grade I assisted coached in 7th to 9th grade when my moment of glory came in 10th grade, when the Athletic director couldn’t find anyone to coach except for a teacher that didn’t know a thing about basketball. My friend Zach and I took over and led the Black team to victory. ‘06 and ‘07 were the only student-run team.
I kept my love for sports going by coaching with an intention of giving the kids a sense of pride, team work, power and confidence.
